We had the honor of naming Rose at the tender age of 3 days old. Her mother died giving birth to her and no relatives ever came to claim the body of Rose’s mother or to claim Rose. We were notified by the hospital and the probation department of a brand new baby girl in need of care. She was too small to bring home so she stayed in the premmie unit for 10 days after her birth.

We fell in love with her at once. We named Rose after John’s sister who was an active part of AFTC and who loves all the children. We call Rose, “Little Rosie” because although she is now 5 years old, she is the shortest child we have. The other children her age tower over here. She is so petite. Rose use to be very fearful of almost everything but she is much better and has developed a sense of security. She is a very bright kindergartener who is doing very well in school. Her favorite thing to do in school is sing. Rose’s favorite color is purple and she likes watching Barney. She likes to eat chicken and rice and hamburgers and fries. She and Joann are very close and are only 1 month apart age wise. We love Rose and can’t imagine life without her but we pray that the Lord will one day allow her to be adopted by a couple who really want to love her just as much as we do. Just as a small rose blooms into a beautiful flower, our little Rose is beginning to bloom as well. When you think of our little Rose here, remember her in prayer.
