Regina came to the home at 2 years of age. Her father was a fisherman by trade and drowned in the Nile River in October of 1999. Regina’s mother died immediately after giving birth to her sister Jasmine (who is also in the home). Regina and her baby sister were being taken care of by a maternal aunt who could no longer care for them. We received Regina with open arms and have enjoyed watching her grow.

Regina has really blossomed in the last six months. She had trouble learning to read and didn’t do so well in school. But now she has taken a really liking to school and especially to reading thanks to the help of Auntie Jennifer who has been helping her. Regina has pulled up from being number 46 out of a class of 73 to number 14. WHAT A MAJOR IMPROVEMENT.

Regina is one of our most affectionate children. She especially loves to take care of the babies. If you ask her what she wants to be when she grows up she says, “I want to be an Auntie because I love babies.” The female caregivers we have with us are known as Aunties. Regina’s favorite color is pink. Her favorite foods are
rice and beans and hamburger and chips. Her favorite subject in school is science. She likes watching Barbie cartoons and her best friend is her little sister Jasmine. We love Regina dearly and thank God she is apart of our family. When you think of us here on the Nile, think of Regina.
