Moriah Sharon Kirya

We received a call from the Probation Officer stating that there was a small baby girl abandoned in the children’s hospital. What we found was a three week old premmie. She was very small and sickly looking. Because of being so small and malnourished, when she slept her eyes would not close. She would sleep with her eyes open. She was so small that a few of the workers were afraid to hold her for fear that they would break her. The hospital staff told us that they were not sure she would make it. We took her home and name her Moriah, which means chosen by God. It was a blessing in disguise that Joelle was being weaned. Moriah picked up where Joelle left off. Moriah was breast fed for 4 months and we saw a tremendous difference.

Moriah is truly a riot. She is trying to walk now and takes some steps but she’s not yet got the hang of it. Moriah does wave and say “BYE”. She also gives the most wonderful kisses. She smiles and laughs all the time. If you give her a phone, watch out, because you might not get it back. She likes talking on the phone and hearing the music when the phone rings. She starts bouncing and waving her arms when she hears music. If she’s standing up or supporting herself on something and she hears music then this little dancing machine really goes for it. She loves music. But Moriah is still choosy. She doesn’t let just anybody pick her up and carry her though many want to. Moriah is truly a special little girl and we love “Mo”. We thank God for her growth thus far and for her bubbly personality that is developing. Moriah is truly a delightful addition to our household and we will cherish every moment that we have with her. When you pray for us here in Jinja, please remember Moriah.
