The little boy remained at the police station for 10 days while the officers in charge of his case looked for parents or relatives but none were found. At that point they contacted the Probation Office who in turn contacted us. The little boy had no name and when you talked to him he would just cover his eyes with his hands. On June 25th, 2000 at around 3:00am, a few villagers of Buyala Trading Center brought a small boy to the police station. The little boy was found at that time wandering around crying. One of the villagers had seen someone get off a taxi, drop the boy off and then get back into the taxi leaving the small boy behind. We named him Isaac (meaning laughter) after being with him two days. In those two days, John, I and the workers were barreled over in laughter over some of the things he said and did. He became quite comfortable very quickly.

Isaac has really taken on his role of the big brother. He is the oldest child and you can really see him telling the younger ones what to do and what not to do. Isaac is now 9 years old and is in the third grade. Every morning he puts on his uniform with his tie and rides his bike to school with “his big brother Ezra”. He really looks up to Ezra and wants to be just like him. Isaac says he has two best friends. One is named Abba who he goes to school with and the other is his little brother Peter. His favorite color is yellow (which is really popular at home) and he absolutely loves pizza. His best day so far in his life was watching Tom and Jerry cartoons and eating pizza at the same time.

We believe Isaac will one day be able to give a powerful testimony on God’s grace and mercy over his life. We believe that God has big plans for our little man and we look forward to seeing him grow into the man that God is calling him to be. When you think of Isaac please say a prayer for him that he will continue to lead his brothers and sisters in the right way, always directing them toward the Lord
