Tracy Nakabugo Kirya
Born: 4/19/2002
Admitted: 8/12/2003
Tracy came to the home at the young age of one year. Tracy’s mother was a young girl who could not take care of her child. Tracy's father had abandoned them when he went to look for employment in Kampala. Tracy was 16 months old and could not stand. She was very weak with very little hair which was red because of malnourishment. Tracy’s mother had only been feeding her breast milk because that is all she had. Tracy was tested for HIV and found to be negative but was positive for syphilis, glandular tuberculosis, and she suffered with a prolapsed rectum. By the time was 3 she had endured 3 different surgeries for her rectum and to remove growth on the side of her neck. Tracy also could not talk until she was two. It took Tracy awhile to really come into her own but she has. Tracy's father resurfaced two years ago with plans to come and take Tracy on a permanent basis. He has never appeared again. Tracy's mother has also abandoned her completely.
Tracy loves playing, especially with dolls. She’s quiet and just likes staying in the background but she participates in games and enjoys singing. Tracy says her favorite color is white and she likes to eat sweet potatoes, beans and chicken. She also loves playing with Mark. At school Tracy has always performed well and is always within the top 10. Tracy has come a long way and it blesses our hearts to see where God has brought her from. But we continually pray that she does not ever feel like she has been rejected or abandoned because God has her exactly where she needs to be, with a family who loves and cares for her. And the best father she can have is our Heavenly Father who will never leave her or forsake her. When you think of our miracle working God, please pray for Tracy here by the Nile River.
