John Otata Kirya
Born: unknown
Admitted: 7/8/2006

Little John was originally with another children’s home called Welcome Home Ministries Africa. John had been with them for 2 ½ years before being transferred to us. John’s mother was in prison for allegedly murdering her husband. While she was in prison it was established that John was not doing well and was then removed from her and placed in the care of Welcome Home. John’s mother was eventually released for lack of evidence after almost 3 years in prison. John’s mother could not financially take care of John and give him the care he needed upon her release so the administration at Welcome Home along with a letter from the Probation Office transferred John to us.

John is an angel child. He is the kind of child that every parent would want to have. He is very good, obedient, and has a wonderful smile. When John first came to us, we were told and could tell that he was afraid of almost everything. From dogs to going somewhere new to even meeting new people. That has changed very much and now he is a social, strong, athletic child. At first John would like to just stay in the house because of the dog, even if it was chained, now he has no problem playing all over the yard and even petting the dogs. At school, John does very well. He received an award at school for performing the best in his 3rd grade class. The teachers like him and he likes playing with his brother Peter. He also wants to be a teacher when he grows up. John’s favorite color is blue, he likes to color and draw as well as helping out, and he likes to eat hamburger and chips mostly.

We are still learning much about this little angel but we look forward to also watching him grow and seeing the Lord work in his life. When you think of us here at the Source of the Nile, remember Little John Otata.
