Jasmine Nabukonde Kirya

Jasmine (named after my niece) came to the home at the tender age of 4 months old. Her father was a fisherman by trade and drowned in the Nile River in October of 1999 when her mother was pregnant with her. Jasmine’s mother died immediately after giving birth to her. Jasmine and her older sister Regina (who is also with us) were being taken care of by a maternal aunt who could no longer take care of them. We received Jasmine with open arms and have enjoyed watching her grow up. Jasmine has turned into a mother hen because she always wants to help the young ones. She has such a heart for babies. She plays with them and makes them laugh. Jasmine’s favorite food is fries or as we call it here “chips”. She likes to eat chips and chicken. Jasmine also likes color red. She is a bright daughter and enjoys school. She was promoted to the 3rd grade this year 2010. She also loves watching Avatar whenever she gets a chance. She is also friendly to all sisters and likes playing with brothers "sometimes".
Jasmine was our first tiny baby that we received in the home and to see her where she is now is wonderful. We thank the Lord for keeping her this far and for allowing us to watch her grow into the cute and compassionate and great girl that she is. When you think of us here in Uganda, remember to pray for Jasmine.
