Angela Namugaya
Born: 8/6/1997
Admitted: 6/23/2000
Angela came to us at the young age of 2 years on June 23, 2000. Her father who was accidentally electrocuted on his job died on January 14th, 2000. Her mother was said to have died one day after giving birth to her sister MaryBelle (who is also with us). However, Angela’s mother is alive but was unable to take care of her baby sister because she had 8 other children as well. Circumstances became too hard and the mother could no longer take care of them. The grandmother of Angela told the local area leader that her daughter had died and she was left with the children. That is how Probation and Social Welfare became involved with their case. Angela’s mother has relinquished her rights as their mother but she has come to visit on one occasion and expressed joy at Angela’s progress and hopes that one day she may be adopted by a loving couple.
Angela has transformed in the last couple of years. From a very shy little girl who wouldn't talk very much. To a young lady who now loves coming into the office every day after school and gives me a "run down" of the days events. Anything from a funny story a teacher told, to what work she had to do that was difficult. Angela is our star pupil in fifth grade. She loves school and last term (there are 3 terms in one school year), Angela performed excellently. She was number 1. We know Angela will go very far. She is also encouraging her other brothers and sisters by helping with problems that may seem difficult for them. Angela wants to be a doctor when she grows up. She is very attentive and even asks questions. Angela’s favorite color is pink and her favorite subject in school is science. She also loves to eat pizza and Mommy is her favorite person to play with.
We thank God for her intellectual ability already and we know that she will go far. We ask that you continue to pray for Angela as she grows that she will always stay on track and not let anyone deter her from what is right. When you think of us here in Uganda, remember Angela.
